Eight students from various departments and stages from the University of Zakho are participating in the Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge program. The Facilitator of the program from the University of Zakho is Mr. Ahmed Alyousify, the CDC Coordinator at the faculty of science.
The program aims to connect young people in the U.S. with their peers in Iraq and Jordan to collaborate virtually on sustainable solutions to contemporary business challenges. The challenge lasts for eight weeks, during which the participants develop global citizenship, and workforce skills, and network with industry professionals. They apply design thinking to discuss global issues, share about their culture, and brainstorm sustainable solutions around the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The virtual exchange allows the participants to improve mutual understanding, cross-cultural communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
